About the Job
What the customer faced:
The entrance door to a flat had been kicked through while everyone was out — the lower panel split clean away, the frame bruised, post scattered down the hallway. The police had been and gone, and the tenant was left with a door that wouldn't hold and a night to get through.
What we did:
Secure first, everything else second. The splintered panel and frame were braced and the door made solid for the night, the damaged lock was replaced with the new part named and priced in writing, and the strike and keeps were refitted into sound timber. A written record of the work went to the tenant for the landlord and insurer.
How the visit went:
- Call — damage described, photos sent by WhatsApp
- Fixed quote agreed on the phone
- Exact ETA confirmed on the call
- Damage assessed, parts priced in writing
- Property secure — payment at completion
What you get:
- Secure the same visit wherever possible
- No upsell while you're shaken — facts in writing
- One price, day or evening
- 12-month workmanship guarantee
- DBS-checked, ID shown at the door

How we keep it honest
- Fixed quote agreed before we travel — never an estimate
- One price, day or evening — nothing added after 6pm
- Any part named and priced in writing before fitting
- Total price — no VAT added · payment at completion
Locked Out or Need a Locksmith Today?
The job in detail
The photos that came through on WhatsApp did most of the talking: the lower half of a flat’s entrance door kicked clean through, the panel hanging by paint, and a hallway of scattered post. The police had taken their report and left; the tenant needed the door to hold before dark.
The first job on any burglary call is making the opening secure — repairs and upgrades come after, if at all. The split panel was braced from the inside, the bruised frame was checked along its full height, and the door was made solid enough that a second visit from anyone would be a noisy failure.
The lock itself had taken the force of the kick and the case was distorted, so it was replaced rather than persuaded back into shape — the new part named and priced in writing before it went in, as always. The keeps were refitted into sound timber with longer fixings that reach the stud behind the lining, which is where most kicked doors actually fail. Before leaving, the tenant got a plain written record of what was damaged and what was done: the kind of paperwork landlords and insurers ask for a week later, when memory has blurred. No security lecture, no upsell at the door — a person who has just been burgled needs a solid door and honest paper, not a sales pitch. Securing labour from £85, total price agreed before travelling — no VAT added.
