Home security check
Know your weak spots before anyone else does.
A calm, door-by-door walk round your home with the locksmith — cylinders, kitemarks, hinges, windows, the side gate everyone forgets. You get written recommendations with fixed prices, ranked by what actually matters. Then you decide. We don't chase.
How it works — and what it costs.
- Book a slot — Pick a time that suits — daytimes, evenings or weekends, 8am until midnight, seven days a week.
- The walk-round — Door by door, window by window, with you alongside. Ask anything — that's what the visit is for.
- Written recommendations — Ranked by impact, each with a fixed price — the total price — no VAT added. The cheap fixes come first when they're what matters.
- You decide — Book work, do it yourself, shop around, or do nothing. The report is yours either way — and we don't chase.

Real jobs, photographed on the tools
Every frame is a real call-out — 45 photographs taken on the job. The doors, the worn gearboxes, the finished fits: this is the day-to-day work behind the fixed quotes on this page — and the locksmith in the band at the top of this page is the one who answers when you call.

Written recommendations, yours to keep · fixed prices on anything we suggest · no follow-up calls.
DBS-checked · ID shown at your door. Trulox Ltd since 2019 — check us on Companies House. 12-month workmanship guarantee (terms apply).
Open 8am–midnight, every day. After midnight, message us on WhatsApp or send the quote form — we’ll ring you back from 8am.
What the in-person check covers.
Every entry point, in plain English — not a sales script with a clipboard. You walk round with us and ask anything; that’s the point.
Final-exit doors
Front and back doors checked against your insurance wording — kitemarks on wooden doors, cylinder ratings on uPVC and composite.
Cylinders & snap lines
We show you — physically, on your own door — whether your cylinder would survive the most common break-in method on uPVC doors.
uPVC mechanisms & alignment
A door that needs a lift-and-shove to lock is a mechanism about to fail. We catch the small repair before it becomes a full replacement.
Windows & ground-floor access
Window locks, patio doors, the flat-roof route — the entry points people stop seeing because they walk past them daily.
Garages, sheds & side gates
Where the ladder and tools that open your house are kept — usually behind the cheapest lock on the property.
Key safes & smart access
Is the key safe police-preferred or peelable? Is the smart lock set up safely? Who still has a working code, fob or spare?
Included with any booked job · a fixed price on its own.
Having locks changed or a door repaired anyway? The check is included — we’re already standing at your door. As a standalone visit it has a fixed price, agreed when you book. Payment at completion — never before we start, never chased after.
Why price it that way? Honestly: it’s how upgrade work finds us. Some checks turn into cylinder upgrades; plenty end with “your locks are fine, here’s that in writing”. Both outcomes are fine by us — the second one is what the reviews are made of.
The report stays between us. It describes your home’s weak points, so we treat it like the sensitive document it is — it isn’t shared, published or used for anything beyond your own visit.
The security check, honestly answered.
Is this just a sales visit?
No — the survey has a fixed price, the report is yours, and there’s no obligation to book anything with us. Plenty of checks end with “your locks are fine, here’s that in writing”, and that outcome is fine by us. We don’t chase, and we don’t do follow-up calls.
What do you actually check?
Every way in, in plain English: final-exit doors against your insurance wording, cylinders and their snap lines, uPVC mechanisms and door alignment, window locks and ground-floor access, garages, sheds and side gates — and any key safes, spare keys or smart access already in place. You walk round with us and ask anything you like.
How long does it take?
Long enough to look at every entry point properly, with you alongside — we’d rather be thorough than rushed. We’ll confirm the timing for your home when you book, along with the fixed price for the visit.
Who sees the report?
You and us — nobody else. The written recommendations describe your home’s weak points, so we treat them like the sensitive document they are: the report stays between us. It’s yours to keep, to act on with us, with someone else, or not at all.
Do I get a record of what’s on my doors?
Yes — the report doubles as a written record of every lock in the house: what’s fitted, what standard it meets and what we’d change first, ranked by what actually matters. Useful at insurance renewal, and a head start if you ever book work — with us or with anyone else.
The fix we end up recommending most.
When a report does find something, the most common first fix is a snap-resistant cylinder — a small job that closes the most common way in.
