Why Trulox exists
George learned this trade from the inside — and came away certain it could be done more honestly. Around ten years on the tools, trained on the job at one of the UK's largest national locksmith firms, then independent. When you've worked that volume of call-outs you see the whole machine: the cheap "bait" price that balloons into a £700 bill on the doorstep, the lock drilled because drilling bills quicker than picking, the job sold by a call centre and handed to whoever's nearest, the invoice that never arrives.
None of it is illegal. Most of it is just what happens when nobody's accountable and — in an unregulated trade — no qualification is required to hold a stranger's keys. So George built the opposite: a fixed quote agreed before anyone touches a lock, a small regular team he vets himself, and every claim on this page written to be checked rather than simply believed.

Our qualifications, honestly
The trade is unregulated — no mandatory qualification, no licence, no register to strike a bad one off. That gap is exactly how the scams thrive: anyone can print a van sign and a search ad and call themselves a locksmith. We won't imply a certificate we don't hold. In its place, George puts a decade on the tools and a stack of facts you can check yourself — Companies House, real Google reviews, a named insurer, and ID shown at your door.
Don't take our word for it
If a badge below has an arrow, it links to proof held by someone other than us. If it can't be verified independently, we say so — and show you the paper instead.
The £10M employers' liability cover extends to everyone who works under our direction — self-employed for tax, covered on the paper. Our insurance is accident cover — if someone's hurt or your property is damaged while we work — not a policy on the lock itself: it won't pay out if a lock we fit is later forced or fails, and no honest locksmith promises a lock that can't be beaten. What stands behind the work is our 12-month workmanship guarantee (terms apply). Ask to see the certificate and the schedule and check them yourself: the certificate carries the policy dates, the schedule confirms the full £10M we carry.
Plenty of locksmith sites wear badges they don't own. These are in progress; the day each one is real, it moves up into the verified row above — with its own proof link, not a day earlier.
How we work
Hold us to these — they're the whole point of the company.
Non-destructive entry first. Drilling is a last resort — and only ever with your agreement, after we've explained why.
One all-in figure — the total price — no VAT added — before we start. You approve it, you pay it on completion. It cannot grow at your door.
Badge offered before we cross the threshold. If it doesn't match a Trulox locksmith, close the door and call us.
You pay when the job's done and you're happy with it — card, bank transfer or payment link. An itemised invoice lands in your inbox — total price, no VAT added. Never cash pressure.
If a repair from £95 is the right answer, that's what we'll recommend — even when a full replacement would pay us more. "No thanks" costs nothing.
